StepWay Operator is a module of the StepWay Suite. This Suite is designed to ensure the management of technical documents (descriptive and applicable) throughout the Life Cycle of an industrial installation.

StepWay Operator, which is complementary to Documentum, assists the user in the creation, update and consultation of the Technical Knowledge Base for the Operations and Maintenance of an installation. This module can be used by the Owner of a facility, or by Sub-contractors.

StepWay Operator Benefits

Management Coherency : This unique module is used in order to ensure the management of technical data and documents (both electronic and paper), Engineering documents and Vendor documents.

Power and Simplicity of Search : A user interface allows multi-criteria searches adapted to the Operation and Maintenance of a facility.

Improved Traceability : This module is responsible for tracking the reception and diffusion of documents (management of transmittal).

Integration with Inspection : The integration of StepWay Operator in the StepWay Suite, and its compatibility with other modules, ensures coherency between Operation, Maintenance and Inspection teams.

Up-to-Date Documentation : Each user consults the same version of the document, since the latest version is given by default.

StepWay Operator's "Documents Search" user interface has been designed according to Operation and Maintenance needs :

• User interface designed to simplify searches.
• Oriented "Technical Maintenance" (use of combined technical criteria) with or without wildcards :

• Storage and reuse of pre-defined customized queries, relative to the context.

  Examples :
  "What is the list of Maintenance Documents associated with Pump 760PP1001A ?"
  "What documents are related to Unit 301?"
  "Where is the Vendor dossier of the vessel 370 V 1001?"

StepWay Operator is designed to store information in a Docbase with or without document contents. In either case, StepWay Operator ensures the management of "document characteristics":

• Technical classification based on parameterized multi-criteria.
• Tags Numbers (Equipment, Instrument, Pipe Line, Cable, etc.)
• Document references (Operator, Engineering, Supplier), versions, dates and uniqueness of each reference.
• Common characteristics such as title, size, format, author, physical location (for paper documents: bookcase, shelf, etc.).

Other StepWay Operator functions allow :

• Storage of comments on a document (even if no image is associated with the text). These comments may be enriched by graphic annotations (when an image exists, if Hyperviewer is combined with StepWay Operator).
• Tracking the reception and diffusion of electronic and/or paper documents through the management of transmittals.
• Monitoring the progress of the project documentation in the entire Docbase, or on a section of the database.
• Extraction of document and database lists.
