Sheet : XML-Interface (eXtended Mark-up Language Interface) saves time and simplifies the automatic loading of a large volume of documents into a Docbase. This module also permits the population of technical databases (not only those that are document centric) on an industrial project using a unique and standard format through proper document structuring. In addition, XML-Interface automates the configuration of Docbases. |

XML is a recognized industry standard, derived from SGML, and simplified to make it easy to use. Its originality lies in the possibility given to the author of a document to define his own document attributes as XML tags, with no limit in number, nor as to their attributes. It is thus possible to deal very precisely with the structure of a document no matter how complex it may be. As of February 1998, the XML version 1.0 has become the new standard for electronic documents and allows for automatic integration into document repositories with the creation of simple indexing. It has also standardized the exchange of data and documents on the Internet and advances the use of hypertexts in databases. Database Population XML Interface permits the creation or updating of a document
in a Docbase, from information stored in an XML format file. Database Configuration XML Interface ensures the integration of any type of "object" into the Docbase. A Documentum implementation specialist can define the parameters associated with the creation of the database (Users, Groups, ACL, Cabinets, Folders, Workflow, Routers, etc.) with the help of market tools and transfer these data into the Docbase by saving them in an XML format.
